5,700 Tule Elk (up from the brink of extinction) . They moved some from the Fresno area (with Tule fog) to parks in Northern California.

I saw a grey fox in my neighborhood for the first time in October. Gray Foxes were gone in this neighborhood for decades. Apparently they now exist through the marshes of the San Francisco Bay, along the urban creek corridors and into the surrounding mountains to gain an understanding of how this basal canid is adapting to increasingly urban environments like Silicon Valley. These canines can climb trees!
